Just some fun pics of our young buck! xx
I'm Kristin. I am a wife, designer, Christian and for now a SAHM. My husband and I are parents to three kids- Dylan Archer, Kyler Jude and Noelle Rose. Despite the name, this isn’t a mommy blog and you won’t find sponsored content here. Ultimately my goal is to leave it as a legacy to my children and possibly anyone else who wishes to follow my journey. This little corner of the web documents my family's adventures and lessons I've learned along the way. The Mom Jungle is a modern interpretation of both the family newsletter and scrapbook.
I call this The Mom Jungle because motherhood is fun and messy, filled with laughter and sometimes heartache… it truly is a jungle out there!
Just some fun pics of our young buck! xx
This past Monday Dylan got his first tooth! I had ordered a Sophie weeks ago, but as it had been on back order, it didn't arrive until today! I decided to give it to him from the "Teething Fairy" (the little sister of the Tooth Fairy).
Halloween is just around the corner. I personally don't like to focus on the scary aspect of this holiday, but rather celebrate dressing up, interacting with neighbours and of course the CANDY!
It was important to me that I make Dylan's Halloween costume. I have ZERO seamstress skills, but with a little imagination and LiquidStitch™, I made this baby sushi costume. I can assure you no babies were eaten as a result of this project!
Check out this delicious Southern Sweet Potato Casserole. It will be a highlight on your table this Thanksgiving!
When I was pregnant, I loved the nesting phase. One of the most fun aspects of that was decorating my baby's nursery!
I made these scrumptious "Pumpkin Cheesecake Muffins" for a church gathering at a cottage yesterday. Unfortunately the weather wasn't warm enough to take a baby... especially a cranky, teething one. It's was one of those days... however; Justin's coworkers Monday just got a little better. I NEED to get these out of the house as they are that good! Trust me.
This treat perfectly encapsulates the taste of autumn with pumpkin, cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves. Enjoy!
During my son's first six months, I breastfeed him exclusively. On his half birthday...
Today was absolutely beautiful! The air was warm and the leaves displayed vibrant hues of oranges, reds, and yellows. The beginning of autumn is my favourite time of year.
We decided a trip to the Farmer's Market was in order. With bushels of Royal Gala apples for the low cost of $1 (fresh and local woo-hoo!), we decided tonight would be the perfect night to make Apple Crumble.
I have realized as of late, I have gotten in a bad habit of staying glued to my phone 24/7. Why do I constantly “refresh” my news feed instead of being refreshed by having a face-to-face conversation with a friend, reading a book, or dare I say having a quiet reflective moment? I’ve been wondering if my late night phone addiction was starting to disrupt my sleep. As it turns out...
When I was pregnant I already decided I wanted to breastfeed my baby. My reasons: studies have proven that breast milk is healthiest for baby, it encourages bonding between mom and baby and it’s FREE (formula is $$$)! I also think it helped me shed the baby weight sooner too... skinny jeans FTW!
Although the concept seems simple, I was still a little concerned that I wouldn’t be able to breastfeed. Thankfully with a little help and effort I am able too, which has been a rewarding experience.
I love being married to a handy man! This past Christmas he made me this rustic, shabby-chic barn board headboard.
As every first time mama can attest too, there are so many exciting new things to experience when expecting your first child and equally there are so many questions, sooo many unknowns. This post will focus on things I wish I knew sooner after giving birth to my son.
As it's still technically summer, I'm sharing my mother-in-love aka 'Mama V's' summertime peach cake! Served with vanilla ice cream this makes the perfect dessert... enjoy! xx
