Hi.

I'm Kristin.  I am a wife, aspiring designer, Christian and for now a SAHM.  My husband and I are parents to two darling little boys named Dylan Archer and Kyler Jude.  I created this space to document my family's adventures and lessons I've learned along the way.  The Mom Jungle is a modern interpretation of both the family newsletter and scrapbook.

I call this The Mom Jungle because life is wonderful and messy and indeed, "It's a jungle out there!"

WILD ONE

WILD ONE

How is it that our youngest is already ONE?  On January 5, 2017 at 8:17 AM, Kyler Jude officially has spent a full year in the outside world.  Our little man is sweet, silly, easy going and the perfect addition to our family.

Last Saturday, we celebrated our "Wild One" with our extended families.  I originally planned to make this cake [see picture below] however, my masterpiece [note the sarcasm] closer resembled the "after" pictures in first birthday cake smash photos! #keepingitreal #momfail... Thank goodness for grocery stores!  Besides chocolate is still chocolate, right?

Happy Birthday Kyler!  You bring so much joy to our lives and we ADORE you!

Sidenote: As for those who have been asking us about a potential baby #3, here is the long and short of it, although I think as a general rule we all ought to mind our own wombs.  However, I will be transparent and answer the question honestly.  The answer is we still don't know.

When our firstborn turned one, we were eager to give him a sibling and we conceived Kyler immediately so naturally, we've been toying with the idea of having another baby.  While a part of me has baby fever, I feel this tension.  I have spent the last three-and-a-half years either nursing or being pregnant.  Right now I intuitively believe my body is telling me to regroup, especially after last month's health scare.  History also tells me to brace myself for morning sickness dragging on the entire time.  With two little ones in tow, wisdom says waiting until Kyler is a little older and subsequently increasingly independent can't hurt.  Some days I feel like having two kids is kicking my butt and see the appeal of calling it a day, whereas other days I think I want a few more [is there a panicked husband emoji?]   We also want to expand our family through adoption too as giving a child the security and love of a family is the single greatest gift.  The verse "God sets the lonely in families," (Ps 68:6) comes to mind.  We shall see what happens, but I have to admit I am beyond blessed to be Dylan and Kyler's mama!
