I'm Kristin.  I am a wife, designer, Christian and for now a SAHM.  My husband and I are parents to three kids- Dylan Archer, Kyler Jude and Noelle Rose. Despite the name, this isn’t a mommy blog and you won’t find sponsored content here. My target audience is actually my children when they grow up if they wish to reflect on their childhood so everything I share has them at the forefront of my mind and secondly those who wish to follow along my journey. I created this space to document my family's adventures and lessons I've learned along the way.  The Mom Jungle is a modern interpretation of both the family newsletter and scrapbook.

I call this The Mom Jungle because motherhood is fun and messy, filled with laughter and sometimes heartache… it truly is a jungle out there!

I'm a Sur-Thriver [Adding College & Freelance Interior Stylist Consulting Into The Mix]

New beginnings and proof you’re never too old to learn.

I’ve been studying interiors for some time and dabbling into client consultant work. It’s been both an adjustment going from full-time SAHM and homemaker to adding college student and freelance interior styling into the mix, but it’s also really enjoyable. This is extra meaningful to me because at 18 years old I never would have entertained a career in a highly visual field as I had a 50% chance of inheriting a rare incurable and untreatable degenerative eye disease leading to low vision and eventual blindness barring a scientific breakthrough or divine miracle. [My heart really does go out to multiple family members including my father suffering with this. They all navigate this so well and with such grace amidst the challenges. I’m thankful that as of right now (and praying it stays that way) my retinas look great and the timing seems right.

A friend of mine recently asked if I was “surviving or thriving” with everything I have on my plate. I hummed and hawed as I pondered her question. Questions that go beneath the surface and dig a littler deeper are something I really appreciate in friendships. Anyways, I came to the conclusion that I am a sur-thriver! *cue Destiny’s child* I am in a full season and the task list can seem overwhelming, but I also love what I am doing which makes the everyday chaos pleasurable. Sometimes we may put too much pressure on ourselves to thrive- or ir may see unattainable. However; Sur-thrve? Heck yes!
