HI!

I'm Kristin.  I am a wife, aspiring designer, Christian and for now a SAHM.  My husband and I are parents to two darling little boys named Dylan Archer and Kyler Jude.  I created this space to document my family's adventures and lessons I've learned along the way.  The Mom Jungle is a modern interpretation of both the family newsletter and scrapbook.

"THE PLAN"

Saturday Night

The baby is asleep.  I've just showered after working out (I don't get too many brownie points as we ate takeout for dinner- fail!).  And now, I have the whole bed to myself... to stretch, sprawl, and take in sweet, sweet solitude.  Don't worry.  The hubby and I didn't have a fight.  He's been battling a bad cold, and after I ended up relocating to the couch last night to catch a few winks, he graciously offered (like the gentlemen he is) to sleep on the sofa.  I hate that he is under the weather, but I'm not going to lie... having 8 hours to myself is heaven!

This week has been a strange one.  We've had the worst winter weather and were storm-stayed three days.  Justin actually got stranded on route home from work one night, and stayed with some family friends.  We are very grateful for their hospitality.

This week has also been great.  I've joined the gym.  I had success losing the baby weight by running outdoors and doing home workout videos.  However; in order to get to the next level, I need to step up my game.  Besides, escaping the house by myself- for myself does wonders for my mental state.

"THE PLAN"

My friend Kim and I are doing Kayla Instine's Bikini Body Guide.  It's initially a 12 week program and then you can sign on for 12+ more.  It's the real deal.  I hurt in places that I didn't know existed!  Doing it with a friend makes it so much more motivating too.  There's also a social media movement called #thekaylamovement which is also inspiring and encouraging.

My one weak spot has always been my diet.  I find it easier to add exercise to my day, then subtract chocolate!  Therefore, I am going to start keeping a personal food log (don't worry I won't overshare on here or on Instagram), but I am going to be intentional in this area.  I love junk food, and I can get lazy in the kitchen.  This changes NOW- stay tuned for healthy snack and meal ideas on THE MOM JUNGLE!

I'll also track my progress regarding my work outs.  Week 1 was difficult, and it's only going to get harder. Burpees suck! On the other hand, I am getting stronger!

Week 2.... here we go!
